- 1997 Department of SPED was established-offering an undergraduate program
- 2001 Offered a master’s degree in SPED
- 2004 Offered one-year coursework for a post baccalaureate SPED teaching certificate in the secondary level
- 2009 Offered coursework for a gifted and talented teaching certificate for in-service teachers
- 2009 Offered in-service teachers with master degree programs.
